How do I find a book?

Use the search box at the top of every page — search by title, author, genre or anything in the description. On the Books page, tap a genre, or open Advanced search to combine keywords, genres, author, series, length, price and a free-sample filter, and to sort the results.

Can I try a book before buying?

Yes. Every book has a free sample of its first 8%. On the book's page tap Read sample, or Listen to a sample to hear it read aloud. Comics show their first pages.

How does listening work?

Open a book or sample and tap Listen. Choose Studio voices — real recordings made on our server that keep playing when your phone is locked — or your device's own voices, which start instantly. You can pick a narrator (tap Hear to compare them), change speed, pitch and volume, skip by paragraph or 15/30 seconds, carry on into the next chapter automatically, set a sleep timer, and have the words highlighted as they are read. While listening, tap any paragraph to read from there.

Can I change how the text looks?

Yes. In the reader tap Aa for text size, font (serif, sans or an easy-read font), line spacing, page width and a light, sepia, night or high-contrast theme. Your choices are remembered.

How do I buy a book?

Tap Buy with PayPal on the book's page — you can pay with a PayPal account or a card through PayPal. While payments are still being set up, Buy saves the book to your wishlist instead, so you can buy it the moment payments open.

Where are my books?

Everything you buy is in My library (sign in and it is in the top menu) and on your order page. Books are read on the site in any browser — there is no file to download — and your place is kept across devices.

Is there an app?

You can install the site like an app: on Android tap Install when the bar appears at the bottom of the page; on iPhone or iPad tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.

Can I write a book here?

Yes — go to Write, start a book and write chapter by chapter. It saves automatically every 45 seconds and whenever you press Save or Ctrl+S. Save to device downloads your book as a Word document, EPUB, plain text or web page; Load from device carries on a book from a Word, RTF, EPUB, text or web-page file. The Aa menu changes the text size, font and background colour while you write.

How do I publish my book?

Go to Publish (EYDP). Set up your publisher details and the PayPal email for royalties, then add your book — or press Publish this book in the writer. We review every book; once approved it goes on sale with its own EYSIN and you keep 70% of every sale's net receipts, paid every six months.

What is an EYSIN?

The eBookYou Standard Item Number — a permanent identifier every book published through EYDP receives, like EY-GB-0001-00000-9. Look any number up on the public EYSIN register.

What if a book isn't right for me?

Ask within 7 days and, if you have read less than 8% of it, we refund you in full. Books that are not as described, or that will not work and cannot be fixed, can be refunded for up to a year. Use the Request a refund link on your order page or the feedback form.

Do I need an account?

Not to browse, search or read samples. An account (free) lets you keep a library, a wishlist, write and publish. Sign up with an email and a password of at least 10 characters.

How do I contact you?

Use the Feedback button at the bottom of every page, or the feedback form. Leave your email if you would like a reply.
